Time is flying!
Well, Krista has made up her mind. She is going to be taking out her OWN STITCHES. And the weird thing is, she's looking forward to it! The event is planned is for Sunday. Noah is not going to watch, that's for sure.
Work is going well for both of us. Noah is busy as always working on all that confidential stuff that we all want to know more about (but couldn't understand, even if we wanted to!). Krista is still loving her job at American Family Insurance. For those of you who don't know, Krista has decided to leave the advertising industry behind for a more sane schedule and less stress. She is now a District Manager Assistant for American Family. She absolutely loves her boss and her job duties and even her schedule.
Krista works from 9am - 5pm, sometimes a little longer, and helps her boss manage 14 insurance agents (soon to be more), and do anything from marketing activities, develop and plan incentive campaigns to reporting for the district, recruiting and planning district meetings and holiday parties and even looking for new office space! She's a busy gal, but loves the flexibility and opportunities with AmFam!
In other news, please keep the Nelsons in your prayers. We used to attend church with Jess and Dave, who just had their baby girl, Asa, in December. Jess has been really battling lately with her brain tumor, and with her doctors and her meds. She has suffered a number of seizures but doing okay. We are awaiting more news about when Jess will have her tumor removed and on her condition. Her seizures and health issues have kept Dave on Family Leave from work for over a month, and Jess says that even Asa knows something is wrong. This has put a lot of stress on them and their families. So please keep them in your prayers.
Speaking of prayer, the meal ministry Krista is heading up at our church is going pretty well. But we need more volunteers! We know they'll come when they're needed though. God always provides! Krista finally made an announcement this past Sunday, and got the printed informational brochures she was waiting on. She and Pat (the other lady helping her lead the ministry) set up a table to talk to people after the service in the church lobby, and there is definitely interest! The ministry has been a blessing to not only those being served, but also to those who are serving.
This weekend, we are going to the St. Louis Fair & Airshow! (http://www.stlcofair.org/)
Krista got a free ticket through work for Noah, and will be getting in free herself because she is volunteering at the American Family Insurance booth at the fair on Saturday (9/2) for a few hours. We even get VIP parking! It will be a blast, as it is every year we've gone. Noah is excited to see the aircraft and the airshow - that's always a treat for him. Krista is in it for the Budweiser clydesdales (and maybe a little of the airshow too).
That's all from the South for now! Hope you're all doing well.
