Day 2

Hi Everyone,

Today was Day 2 of our big adventure being parents... Judah and Mommy are doing great. We will be at St. Luke's until tomorrow morning (Wed.). Judah is a little jaundice, so he needs to be on a special light for today. Doc said he's doing really well though and will be just fine. A hearing technician also came in today to do a hearing test. Judah did well in his right ear but they need to re-test tomorrow on his left ear. They think he still has some amniotic fluid in his ear canal but that his hearing is fine. We will be going home from the hospital tomorrow morning some time.

Judah Michael Brown

was born at 4:02am on July 6th

He weighed 7 lbs. 5 oz.

and measured 19 3/4" long.



Krista and baby are both doing really well.
Judah is eating well and Noah is really enjoying being a daddy.


You're finally here! We love you little one!!!

One more time...

We are getting to know the hospital staff at St. Luke's pretty well, thanks to another lovely visit!

This morning, at about 1:15, I was sure my water broke. And soon after I started to have more regular contractions. So, we excitedly packed up our stuff (which was ready to go this time) and headed to the hospital. The nurse was very nice, and did the usual 10,000 question screening and hooked me up to the fetal and contraction monitors. The house doc, who was the cutest little old man you ever saw (about 80 years old) did some tests and made a few jokes. But they determined that my water didn't break, and my contractions mysteriously got irregular since we'd come in... so yep - they sent me home. UGH!!! (Sorry, no photo this time! lol)

Coming home again was tough for me to take. I couldn't help wondering why this happened, what the purpose of this was. All the excitement went away in a flash, and we were in disbelief. But we knew we needed to just keep trusting in God and waiting on His perfect timing instead of getting discouraged.

We got home from St. Luke's around 5:30am, tired. I went to sleep, and Noah just went to work early, since he'd have to get up in less than an hour anyway.

My boss has been wonderful the last couple of days. She's allowed me to work from home which has been a huge blessing. I've been having irregular contractions and have been hesitant to drive the extra 30-40 minutes in to the office just incase. She has a baby of her own - now about 3 weeks old - and she's so understanding, bless her heart!

We ask for your prayers - that when the REAL time comes, we'll know it, and that we'll have peace in the mean time while we're waiting. It's hard to be so very excited, and have to wait unknowingly in the mean time.

Thanks to everyone who has lifted us up in prayer and checking in on us. It's so nice to know you care. We are blessed!!!

Can you come out to play?

Yes, we are still waiting! The doctor appointment yesterday went very well. Not too much change though. Still 2cm dilated, but 50% effaced now, which is good. Heartbeat is strong and the baby is still pretty active.

We are so excited to meet this precious little one, but we know we have to wait on God's perfect timing. :) We aren't nervous or anxious... just really excited to see the funny little person who decides to stop moving when we ask if it's a boy or a girl, and who responds to daddy's voice so readily.

We keep telling the baby that it's okay, you can come out now. But I think the baby just thinks it's too safe and cozy in there. Soon enough I know he or she will change their mind! It has to be getting pretty cramped in there! Can't imagine!

We'll keep everyone in the loop, so keep checking back for updates! Thursday is our due date but hopefully we'll have some exciting news before then. :)
