Nope, no baby just yet. We know all of you are wondering... is it time yet? Is anything happening? Well we're sure things are happening, but just don't know what exactly. We do know for sure that God's timing is getting closer, so that gives us the strength and patience we need to look forward to the blessed day!
Friday we went to the doctor, who said nothing was really going on. Krista is dilated to 2cm, which is better than 2 weeks ago, but progress is still crawling. We know God's timing is perfect though and are just playing that waiting game. Our next doctor appointment is Thursday (6/18). Please pray for good news!!!
Saturday was Krista's birthday (we are not going to say which one! lol). We served at a Power of Purity mens conference with some of the other people in our ministry which was fun. It is always an incredible blessing to see how God touches hearts and lives through the conferences! Throughout the day, she received a bunch of phone calls from relatives, and some of the other volunteers seemed to get a little suspicious as to why her phone kept ringing. So Krista finally broke down and mentioned it was her birthday. After the conference ended, a bunch of the volunteers went to dinner to celebrate and we had a great time. I think the favorite moment of the evening was when the waiter and owner brought out the portions of lamb for Tony to see before he ordered anything - just to make sure he would leave the restaurant full! haha! :)
Some of you have heard that we are looking for a church. We are still looking! Sunday we went to a small church near home for the second time. We're not sure if we will keep going there or not, but we like it. We're also looking at a larger church farther west of us, which we'll go to (God willing) this coming weekend - if we don't have a baby in our hands! Please pray that we will find where God wants us to be. :)
Some of you also have heard about our "TV adventures". We were surprised to find out that our 5-year-old TV konked out on us just recently. We tried to see if it was worth the cost to fix it, but the cost was half of what the TV was worth, so we decided to upgrade. Well, the upgrade decision led to "what if we get speakers to go with it" and well... it is snowballing. But we have been talking about doing the speaker thing for quite a while anyway. Noah's having fun doing all the research though, and I think we're getting close. In the mean time, our wonderful neighbors next door had an extra 25" tv they are letting us borrow. Couldn't ask for nicer nighbors!
Krista's manager, Jennifer, had her baby last week Saturday (6/6). Mom and baby are doing wonderfully. Jace Parker Reed Keen was born around 10:30am, and weighed 9 pounds 14 ounces and measured 20 1/2 inches long! He is a beautiful, healthy big boy who looks a lot like his daddy! Well, that is Krista's opinion. Jennifer had the baby by c-section and will be taking some time off to recooperate. But the family is doing great, and mom and baby are at home resting as of Tuesday.
Well, that's all from the Missouri home front. We hope all of you are doing great and we'll keep you updated on the new arrival when he/she comes!!!

"A Quick Test Run"
Hi Everyone,
Quick update on the baby situation! We had a little surprise this weekend while my parents were in town. Saturday morning around 2am I woke up with contractions. After about 10 minutes trying to walk them off, I woke Noah up and let him know what was going on. We timed them for about 30-40 minutes, and they were coming regularly - about 2-4 minutes apart, lasting about 1 minute each. So we decided to call the hospital and ask them if we should come in. They suggested we should, just to get checked out, because I am right at 36 weeks (37-40 is considered full term). We hadn't even packed a bag yet, or gotten the car seat out of the box. So we threw some things together and put the car seat into the car (with tags on and all) and drove to St. Luke's. They admitted me, asked me a bunch of medical history questions and did an exam while they tracked the contractions and the baby's heartbeat (which, by the way, they said was perfect!). After that, they decided it would be best to try to stop the contractions by giving me 24 ounces of 7up to drink (sugary stuff and laying on your side is supposed to help stop early labor - not sure how that works). Drinking that much was definitely a challenge though, seeing as they told me to keep drinking lots of water to stay hydrated on our way over! And any of you ladies who have been pregnant before know that drinking a lot of fluid all at once isn't really fun! haha! The 7-up worked, and the contractions stopped. Our doctor stopped by to see how we were doing and to officially discharge us, and we went home around 9am.
Doc said the baby and I are doing great, but he'd prefer I wait at least another week before we do this for real! :) He also said that if they wouldn't have been able to stop the contractions, that would have been okay too and the baby and I would've been just fine. (The baby is estimated to be about 7.5 pounds and is well developed.) I am officially 1cm dilated (25% effaced), which is a good start. But that doesn't necessarily mean baby will come before the due date (July 2). We'll see how things progress and just wait on God's timing, which is always perfect :)
We just wanted to give you all an update on how things are going - no need to worry! We have complete peace and joy about this whole pregnancy and delivery. Please keep praying for us, that things will go just as God designed them to - we appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers and excitement about the upcoming big day. We're excited too and can't wait to meet our little one. Yay!!!
And for those of you who have heard my boss is pregnant also, due on June 8th - one more week! She is doing fine. No activity yet. Just waiting it out! She's getting antsy and couldn't believe when I told her about our crazy weekend. Looks like a race to the finish! haha!

May 19, 2009 - Pregnancy Pics
Hi Everyone!
I know I just emailed some of the ladies because some of you were asking about an update on Baby Brown. So here is the latest on that:

We have about 6 weeks left to go.... almost there! Time is flying! Just went to the doctor on Wednesday and he said I look great and baby is doing wonderfully. He estimated (from where I am right now) that the baby would be about 8 pounds... perfect :) Funny, because that was what my intiuition has been telling me for quite a while now! I receive emails every week telling us what changes are going on with the little Bambino(ette?)... here's where we are right now, somewhere around week 34: "Your baby gets bigger and bigger as each day passes. As of week 34, the baby weighs almost 5 pounds, and is between 19 and 20 inches long (roughly 49 cm). There are lots of new developments in progress. The baby is starting to fill out, skin is starting to be less wrinkled and movements are tending to be larger and stronger now."
Baby has been movin' and groovin' a lot the last few weeks. If the baby really is between 4 and 5 pounds right now, no wonder I can feel almost everything he/she does in there! I can imagine him/her running out of room quickly! Probably like living in a dorm! haha! I have felt anything from the head bumping into my side during walks, to little elbows and knees sliding across my belly. It's pretty incredible, but definitely a weird feeling! :) Still no really weird cravings... mostly just sugary and spicy stuff and fruit.... oh, and the newest thing is lots of meat! Not sure where that came from -- during my first trimester I could've become a vegetarian!
I think reality is setting in for both of us, but especially Noah. He's doing really well with everything and excited. I think it's just strange for him to picture how we are going to go from "that" (pregnant belly) to an actual little baby! He is going to be a great daddy though... no doubts about that. He still plays with the baby (pokes my belly and the baby kicks him back) and plays with the flashlight (yes, the baby really does move away from the light). We've also started actually putting things on my belly and watching the baby kick them around, which has become almost a daily entertainment ritual!
We just finished our first childbirth class which was good, and took a tour (again) of the labor/delivery floor. It was definitely more real this time (not just a wonderful froofy little fantasy like last time!). Noah and I just looked at each other at the same time thinking "woah, this is where it'll all happen!" We both are looking forward to it though, and have a lot of peace and joy about the whole thing. We are both confident that it is going to be a great experience. I think we have definitely settled on a girl name, but still working on boy names (sorry Michelle... can't divulge that info yet!).
We're interviewing a pediatrician next week and the Springfield, IL shower with Noah's family is Memorial Day weekend. After that, we should be all set (well, hopefully)! Many thanks to incredibly generous family and friends and co-workers, I think we will have everything we need for the little Bambino(ette).
Michelle, I know you are soooo anxious to hold the baby... you will just have to wait! Soon enough!!! :) And yes, we will notify all of you know as soon as things start happening (labor and all that fun stuff), so you aren't in the dark. We are so thankful for all of your thoughts, prayers and excitement! We're excited too!

Speaking of baby, this morning a good friend of ours was kind enough to volunteer her time and photography expertise to take some nice pregnancy photos with us. We had a wonderful time and are so thankful to her for doing such a great job! The photos are at the top of the blog (or you can check out my Facebook page).
The nursery is almost finished. Just need some of the finishing touches, like pictures on the wall and the mattress for the crib. I was going to post some pictures of the nursery on here for you, but we just finished steam cleaning the carpet, and almost everything is moved out of there! I'll try to post some in the near future for you.
We have a natural birth class this coming Tuesday, which is a 3-hour one-time deal, and then a breastfeeding class on June 6th. Then we'll be done with classes and hopefully as ready as can be for the little one.
Other than the baby, things are going well with us. Noah is done with his masters classes for this semester, which is a relief for him. He's excited about having his evenings back and relaxing.
I've just been relaxing a bunch as well. We have been tackling a few light projects around the house (like steam cleaning carpet) and some general organizing.
The ladies at our church threw a surprise shower for me a few weekends ago, which was really fun! I am so thankful for all of them - they're such a blessing. I'm glad they could celebrate this special time with us.
The gals I work with also threw a surprise shower for me this past week, which was also really fun! I had no clue they were planning anything. They chipped in and got us a nice diaper bag and the little bouncer/jumper, a bunch of really cute outfits and bath items, and one of them knit a beautiful blanket for us.
This coming weekend (Memorial Day weekend), we are heading back up to Springfield, IL for the last shower with Noah's family. I'm really looking forward to celebrating with them. We haven't seen some of his aunts and cousins in quite a while, so it will be nice to get together. I think during the shower, Noah and Gabe (his cousin Madaline's husband) are going to take a plane ride from Springfield to St. Louis and catch up on some lost flying time. Both of them are pilots and they have a lot of fun together (and they're itching to get in a plane again!).
I'm sure I'll write again before the little bambino comes. Hope all of you are doing well - miss you, love you and thank you for all of your excitement, thoughts and prayers!
